What’s new

User facing changes to the Mercury admin, newest first. The admin shows the latest of these in the What’s new dialog (user menu → What’s new) the first time you sign in after a release.

November 2026

  • Tracks: when you edit a subpublished version, Parent track shows its current main track and is locked, like the other details the owning catalogue sets.

October 2026

  • Filter panels: filter tracks to one composer, artist, label, publisher, or track and a panel above the list shows its details and counts. Panels stack when you combine filters. Albums filtered to one label or publisher, and playlists, pitches, and projects filtered to one track, show the same kind of panel. See Tracks.
  • Clicks narrow the list: on tracks, clicking a composer, label, album, album code, or track code narrows the list instead of opening another page, and clicking a playlist, pitch, or project lists that collection with the track above it. On albums, clicking a label narrows the list to that label.
  • Artists can be filtered to a single artist.
  • Sorting: more columns sort when you click their header, including Created on most lists, and Album, Label, Number, Versions, and Stems on tracks. The first click puts counts and dates biggest or newest first, and names, titles, and codes A to Z. Sorting tracks by title, version title, or code now works with filters and on a single album. The tracks table on a delivery always keeps delivery order.
  • Subpublishing: incoming has an Error tab, between Accepted and Published, listing the releases that failed. It and the Rejected tab only show when they have something in them. See Incoming releases.
  • Parent track: when you edit a version, it only lists main tracks from the version’s own album, and changing the album clears it.
  • Domain access: each group holds up to 80 domains, with a count beside the list. Saving more used to fail and clear the list. See Access settings.

September 2026

  • Help in the admin: help is one click away on every screen, opening the page for the screen you’re on, or this help centre.
  • Forgot password?: after a failed sign in, a link below the sign in card explains how to get your password reset. See Sign in to the admin.
  • Usage report: Reports exports a CSV of when each track was downloaded by each user, over a date range, optionally narrowed to groups or named users.
  • CSV exports: download the user list (optionally only people who signed up in a date range), the tag list with each tag’s category, or just the tags in the categories you select. Select several labels, or several playlists, pitches, or projects, and export their metadata in one go. Download the file straight away, turn it into a shareable link, or deliver it to Dropbox or an SFTP server, with live progress while it’s built. See Export audio and metadata.
  • Albums and labels: the separate Export metadata button is gone; Export now covers audio, audio with metadata, and metadata on its own.
  • Merge tags opens on top of the tag panel, and a new tag category starts with its defaults (shown everywhere, used for similarity, limit 50) instead of every switch off.

August 2026

  • Pitches: the new share link dialog opens on top of the pitch panel. See Pitches.

July 2026

  • Labels: a Published switch on the label panel controls the label page. See Labels.
  • Pitches: share codes. Create links with optional expiry, download access and group bypass; copy or delete existing links.
  • Transactions: download, generate or regenerate the licence PDF for each licence on a transaction. See Transactions and licences.
  • Track search shows the version title next to the track title so versions can be told apart.

June 2026

  • Brand settings: upload a logo and favicon on Settings → General.
  • Download dialog redesigned for single and multi track exports. See Download audio from the admin.
  • Subpublishing pages show release codes instead of slugs, and ingestion badges distinguish original from subpublished content.
  • Tag browsing in the tracks, albums and playlists filters. See Tags.
  • Counts and links: album counts on labels; track and album counts on composers, artists and publishers; collections tables show where each item appears, with links back from the tracks page.
  • Album Published state is saved when creating an album; searching within one album shows an album preview above the results.
  • Consistent delete confirmations everywhere, and lists refresh after a delete.
  • Improved batch edit layout and faster tag list refresh.

April 2026

  • Unblock users who are locked out after too many failed sign ins. See Reset a password or unblock a user.
  • Tag category reordering on its own page. See Tag order.
  • Long tag names truncate cleanly; chapter buttons show whether a chapter exists.
