Ingestigator

Ingestigator is Cadenzabox’s desktop app for uploading audio and artwork at scale. It sends files straight to your organisation’s cloud storage, where Mercury matches them to your tracks and albums by filename.

On Linux, make the file executable before you run it: chmod +x Ingestigator-Linux.

The same downloads are in the admin: open the user menu at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Get Ingestigator app, or go to Ingest → Ingestigator.

Make Ingestigator your ingestion source

You choose where Mercury looks for audio and artwork yourself, in the admin. Set it to Ingestigator in either place:

  • On Ingest → Assets, pick Ingestigator under Asset source. It saves straight away.
  • Under Settings → General, set Audio ingestion source to Ingestigator and click Save changes. Only admins can open Settings.

The other choice, Dropbox, is for organisations that deliver through a shared Dropbox folder. Switching changes where future imports and every Rescan look, so finish any delivery in progress first. See Deliver audio and artwork.

Upload your files

  1. Open Ingestigator and sign in with your admin account.
  2. Add the folder or files to upload. Filenames must match the TRACK: Audio Filename and ALBUM: Artwork Filename values in your metadata CSV.
  3. Let the upload finish.
  4. In the admin, go to Ingest → Assets and click Rescan audio (Ingestigator) and Rescan packshots.
